Achieving a healthy lifestyle is a worthy goal, but it is also a challenging one as most people struggle to keep fit, stay healthy, lose weight and keep their desired physique.

 

The fundamental basics of healthy living or lifestyle include healthy eating, regular exercise and other daily activities that can improve health. These basics are very important and beneficial to the human health-wise.

1. Be More Active

 

The goal here is simply to engage in physical activity or exercise at least two to three times a week. There are so many things that you can do here, the possibilities are limitless. Whether you decide to join your local gym and start your own fitness program, practice your favorite sport or simply do some jogging, it is all up to you.

 

Doing little things such as walking to your co-worker’s desk in the office rather than sending an email, parking at a distance away and walking home, taking the stairs often, cleaning the house and gardening, taking a pet out for a walk and many other activities that involve moving the body and walking can also help you burn calories and stay fit.

 

 

 

2. Stand More

 

Most people spend a lot of time sitting down to watch the television or simply do some other similar activities. Sitting down for most of the day jeopardizes your health and can make your quest to achieve a healthy lifestyle a lot more complicated.

 

Sit well and do so in the right posture and stand more so you can stretch your legs and thigh. Always break the long sitting time by standing for a few minutes and reap the health benefits.

 

 

 

3. Eat Healthy

 

The food you eat is a vital determinant of what becomes of your health. Every human needs good food and drinks to stay healthy. Eating the wrong foods and drinks can lead to many health challenges including obesity, heart diseases, and diabetes.

You can reduce your sugar intake drastically if you simply cut down on your consumption of various sugary drinks and snacks. Doing this will help you maintain a healthy lifestyle.

4. Drink Enough Water

 

Simply put, most people don't drink enough water. Your goal here should be to drink at least eight, eight-ounce glasses of water daily.

 

 

 

5. Get A Good Night Of Sleep

While sleep requirements vary slightly from person to person, most people need between 7 to 9 hours of quality sleep per night to function at their best.

There are habits that are detrimental to the health and well-being of human and one of such is smoking. Smoking is known as the most threatening public health concern in the world due to its connection with deaths and disability of humans that engage in the act.

 

Drinking too much is also one of those bad habits. Researchers have shown that excessive alcohol consumption can lead to depression, weight gain and other serious health problems.
